Grasses

This study is all about the grass family. Grasses have been a favorite of mine for years because they are wispy and beautiful, especially with the sun shining though them on a summer evening. (Not so much when they are taking over my flower beds though!)

In the video (10:47 min.) I share all I’ve learned about their form, structure, and seed dispersal, so you will be better informed when doing a special study with your kids. In particular, you will know what to call the parts so you can use the language naturally, and with the addition of the questions in the handout, you will know what questions to ask during an object lesson.

The handout includes the following sections:

  • Video
  • Teacher preparation
  • Object lesson questions
  • Other activities
  • Ways to record your observations
  • Book suggestions
