We have gotten much more snow this year than usual, and consequently, the local schools have taken off 13 “Snow Days”! People who live in the North would laugh at us, because it really hasn’t been that much snow, but because we don’t usually get that much, we are unprepared.
My kids were a little miffed that we just kept on doing school right through those wintry days, but I figured they were perfect days for doing school. After all, our days are short and there is plenty of time for snow play after the few hours we do school.
Besides, we would rather enjoy our “mid term break” in spring! After a long cold winter, who wants to be inside on the first few days of Spring? They are far more fun days to have off.
