If we start each school day with a reasonable list of things to complete that day, why does it sometimes drag on and on? In the video slide show I have included below, I walk you through one of those reasonable lists and show how it can so easily go astray.
I know this video leaves unanswered questions, like, “So what do I do about it?!”
In my next post, I will talk about the tool Charlotte Mason used to make their school list (the programmes) work for them.

I can't wait to read/hear Part II. You have described my day exactly.
I'm trying to figure out how to post with wordpress.com. The above link goes to an outdated website. It should be Elisabeth
at http://treasuringthemoments.net
Thank you for linking to your blog Elisabeth. I found my way there and enjoyed reading some of it. Part II is almost up. It has actually turned into several parts!
Thank you so much. When will the next part be up?!?!
Finally watched the video. So great! Will there be another video?
The big video with how to actually put pencil to paper and make your own schedule will post tomorrow! It's so exciting!
Yea! Can't wait!
I enjoyed this so much, Nicole! Your video demonstration was excellent – so well thought out and understandable. I'm making my way through the series and truly enjoying it. These ideas are finding room in my thoughts and I'm grateful for the expanse of details in the practicals you've shared!
I've been meaning to watch this video for a really long time because it doesn't play on my phone. I finally remembered to watch while I have the computer on and I'm so excited to continue with the next post! You must live in my house because that's the exact way our day goes. I'm so hopeful that this blog series can help us for next year.
Thank you for your note, Katrina. I wrote all of that up based on personal experience, so I'm right there with you! Happily, life has change completely since implementing a reasonable schedule!
Love this – just listened to the ADE podcast on scheduling and heard about your scheduling series. You describe my day to a T In this video, I had to laugh! We did AO Year 1 last year and loved it, but this year with 2 students, a toddler, and another one on the way, it hasn’t been working for us. I’m eager to watch to the rest of your videos on this topic and make some adjustments to our days! ???? Thank you.
Has this video been taken down? I don’t see a video or recording?
Hi Stephani O,
I noticed the same thing. On my screen, where there should have been a video, the screen was blank. I double-clicked in the blank area where the video should have been. A message popped up saying that my flash player was out of date. After following the prompts to download the updated flash player, then restarting my browser, the video was there. I hope this helps 🙂
Thank you for helping, Shawn, and I hope you were able to see it eventually, Stephanie. You can also look at my YouTube Channel, if that is easier.
~Nicole
Hi Nicole,
I can relate to this video so much, and was looking forward to seeing the next one that you did. Have you taken the next video down since you first posted it?
Great video! I’m excited to learn more about scheduling.
